Passendale, a semi-soft cow's milk cheese, impressed us as a sure hit the first time we tasted it. We loved its delicious flavor and sweet bouquet and found it to have universal appeal. You will feel comfortable serving this cheese to anyone, as it will not offend those with basic tastes, yet will still wow the gourmets. It is a little bit sweet and very, very creamy, owing to its French heritage. It has a golden interior dotted with small holes beneath a hard, but edible rind. Passendale is handmade in the traditional method by artisan Belgian cheese crafters. From the land of Trappiste Monks and ancient villages, Passendale is a rare treat that you will find to be simply scrumptious.
  • Made from pasteurized cow's milk.
  • Photo depicts whole 8 lb. form of cheese.
  • We cut and wrap this item by the 1/2 pound.
  • Please contact us if you would like to purchase the whole form.

For cooking only, not for noshing
I was shopping what was supposed to be Ig's semi-hard list, saw this for 1st time & tried it. Should have read it is semi-soft...so soft & gummy that we could not cut, serve & eat it. Definitely for cooking only. The rind is the best part, but we always scrape most off for sanitary handling reasons, so not much to enjoy with this cheese. Cheese crafters should wring out the excessive wetness 1st. Blah! Comes across to me like Valveeta.

Delicious
Good flavor. Sweetness and texture just right. Great for snacking with fruit and crackers.

A great cheese
I had never had this cheese before and bought it (along with a number of other cheeses I often buy) for Thanksgiving, and it was a hit. I will defiantly buy again.
