Pici is a simple pasta that is similar to spaghetti, but it is made in much longer strands that are twisted into neat little coils before drying. When they are cooked, they once again separate into individual strands. We've been looking for some good Pici outside of eating them fresh in Italy, and we've finally found them. These simply look good, but serving and eating them brings you over the top, especially if you've been to Siena. Imported from Italy, this large and impressive pack features homey-looking bundles of dried pasta. Made of durum wheat semolina and water, the pici pasta nests are slow-dried at low temperatures to allow its ingredients to remain unaltered and to conserve their original flavor. Because of this, look out for the cooking time as they require 20 minutes for al dente. The porous nature of these pici nests makes them the perfect foil for any type of sauce. They're excellent with truffle cream, garlic and chilies sautéed in olive oil, basil pesto, or a simple tomato-basil sauce.

Memories of Tuscany
We were in Tuscany last month & had the pleasure of eating this great pasta. I've yet to find it locally so I was happy to discover that your website/company sells this pici pasta. It's not the same as eating in Tuscany but it's close enough! Thank you.

Pici Pasta
Having just returned from Italy we wanted to find the pici pasta we had in Siena here in the USA. And, your pici pasta, although not fresh, is wonderful. We are really enjoying it. Now can you find us the little yellow cantucci we had in Siena? I think it might have cornmeal in it. Thanks.

A marvelous Pici!
My wife and I travel to Tuscany every year and enjoying fresh, homemade pici is one of the culinary highlights of our trips. The Nanni pici nests were the next best thing we've found to actually being in Tuscany! Please keep this pici as a regular item as it is very, very good! Thank you igourmet or should I say grazie mille!!

Unique Pasta
I'm a happy girl. On a recent trip to Tuscani we were introduced to this pasta. Enjoyed it so that I brought three bags home. Was delighted to find it offered by igourmet.com. This will be a staple in my pantry. So far, have served it with a basil pesto and a la carbonara. Do not be put off by the 20/22 minute cook time -- excellent flavor and texture.
