One of the world's ancient cheeses, Pont L'Eveque dates back to the Thirteenth Century. Made on the coast of Normandy on small farms that use rich salt milk, Pont L'Eveque is a small cheese that is formed into a square shape. Pale yellow in color with a white-orange rind, it is a very rich and soft cheese with a supple, yet firm consistency. It is well known for its delicate bouquet, which is said to be reminiscent of the Norman countryside. However, it does tend to have a strong, pungent aroma that is not for the timid. The flavor is creamy and full-bodied, especially if you choose to eat the rind. (Some prefer to trim it). Packed in its own little wooden box and aged for 45 days, Pont L'Eveque is a cheese the French are very proud to call their own. Best when eaten at room temperature.
  • Best enjoyed within seven days of delivery.
  • Made from pasteurized cow's milk.
  • Whole form is 7 ounces.

Wonderful Cheese
After tasting Pont L'Eveque cheese in Normandy last month, we decided to order from igourmet.com. It arrived in perfect condition, and still cool. It was fabulous! We will be ordering again.

Add Jam
This cheese is so mysterious. it first hits you with its softness, then you taste the fine white rind...and next thing you know, the smell. Add Jam...or RIP.

Good Cheese
Considering how "stinky" this cheese was in the package, I expected a much stronger tasting cheese. It was quite good, but not what I expected.

Stinkylicious!
If you like a good stinky cheese with lots of flavor, this is it for you. It may even replace limburger as my favorite cheese. It is creamy and luscious. Will be ordering this again! (I like it on a bolillo cut in half).

It's a mild stinky!!!
Although the smell would suggest a pungent flavor, this cheese is actually pretty mild. We are enjoying it,but it has been a surprise.

Unique experience
Full bodied cheese to be eaten at room temperature. Eat the rind for full flavor enjoyment.

My favorite
A must for any cheese platter, it was young when it arrived, but it improved with age. I've had the best in Normandy, and this measured up to that.

Doesn't get any better!
I use it as part of a lunch with salad and baguette and crackers and other cheeses.
