Towering misty redwood trees and scenic rocky northern California coastline lured Mary Keehn to Humboldt County where she established Cypress Grove Chevre in 1984. From the very beginning, Cypress Grove has been recognized for its superior quality; winning more than 30 Gold Medals and Best of Show in national competitions.

Purple Haze is a recent addition to Cypress Grove's line of cheeses. Lavender buds mixed with wild harvested fennel pollen give Purple Haze its addicting flavor. Its sweet flavor is wonderful as a dessert with honey and almonds or in a main dish with lamb.

OK Flavor
Not as flavorful as I had hoped, Really was kinda boring. Not really worth the price I paid for it at all.

Never been this excited about goats milk before
Excellent. I loved the fennel and lavender taste of this cheese. Spreadable creamy goodness. I am definitely buying more of this stuff.

Buy this cheese.
So delicious. The fennel combined with lavender buds really does make this a special cheese and one worth waiting for when it's out of stock.

Yumm-O
This has been my favorite cheese ever since a server recommended it at a restaurant over a year ago. It is so smooth and buttery and the hint of fennel and lavendar just tops it off! Fantastic!

Surprise cheese
I had ordered a basket of Goat Cheeses of the World and this was substituted for the Goat Cheddar for the USA. And what a surprise! This is an amazing little soft cheese with a lovely herbal flavor that will stand up to the most overpowering cracker without being obnoxious. A nice alternative to brie and as a softserve a lovely, lovely little cheese that will wow your guests! Am I surprised it's sold out? No but I wish I could have ordered more before it was! I'll be watching for more before the next holiday or special event. Bravo Cypress Grove!

Tart with mild floral undertones
This chevre is to die for! It's tart with subtle floral notes. It's crumbly when cold but smooth and creamy when heated or warmed. I use it in a salad with baby greens and spinach, thinly sliced red onion, thinly sliced Bosch pear, chopped walnuts and drizzled with balsamic vinegarette. It's also divine on fresh pear slices as a snack.

Subtle Yet Distinctive
This is not a loud cheese, so don't choose a loud cracker on which to eat it. However, it can hold its own with roast beef, turkey or hamburger. Best is with a good light bread or salt or sweet crackers.

The herbs aren't worth it
It's basically chevre with some stale anise flavored bits on top. The best tasting parts where the ones without any herbs sticking to them!

too salty
very salty, lavender not tasted. not bad on crackers but theres tons of better ones out there.
