Lumpfish caviar is an excellent alternative to pricier Caspian Sea varieties. This specialty caviar is a perfect addition to a gourmet meal; used as a substitute in recipes calling for the more traditional roes. It also makes a beautiful garnish, especially alongside sushi. Originally from Iceland, ours is from neighboring Sweden.

Yum!
Somewhat similar to a smelt roe as one would find on sushi - Which is a favorite of mine. I prefer smelt over the lumpfish but this was still very good and I will definitely order again.

Exellent Caviar for a great price
I can't say I've tried too terribly many different kinds of caviar, I've mainly had various roes on sushi. I prefer the smaller eggs like bright orange Smelt roe and this type was very similar, only slightly larger and way more flavorful. The striking red color looks lovely on anything you desire to put it on. If you are new to caviar, give this one a try, it's subtle enough while being a real treat for gourmet food lovers.

Will (and have) buy again
What can I say? This was a great purchase all the way around. Fast delivery with excellent packaging. I secured the caviar and a salami selection to round out a holiday meal and could not have been more please. Quality and taste beyond compare. I will (and have already) visit and make selection from igourmet.com moving forward, and you should do the same.

I love those roes
This is my favorite caviar. I have had real caviar from Russia once but that is a little too expensive. The black lumpfish caviar from Iceland is more salty than the Sweden, and the red is just perfect. Mix of Cream cheese and sour cream on cracker, delicious this is my second time I order 4,5 of these caviars .With this hot weather they came in a thermo safe cooler with still a sack half full of ice after 1 day delivery.

Highly Recommended!
If you haven't been a fan of black caviar, I encourage you to give this one a try. Mix with creme fraiche or cream cheese and prepare for a ride to heaven. As other reviewers have stated, the caviar is not too salty and not too bland. Very impressive especially for the cost!

Goes very well with cream cheese and is much less pricey than other similar products. I would purchase this again.
