For those that like a little extra crunch with their bacon, try Stripling's Rind on Bacon. Today most bacon has the pork skin removed before smoking, but some customers prefer the old fashioned tradition of keeping the "rind" on the bacon. Stripling's owners, the Hardin family, love to deep fry a batch while enjoying a fish fry dinner. If you've never cooked rind-on bacon before, there are two methods to cooking it. First, and easiest, is to just pop it in the pan and fry like regular bacon. This will make the rind curl and cook, making some parts crispy and crunchy while other parts are soft and chewy. Or you can cut 3-4 notches into the rind (just through the rind, not the meat or fat), which will help the bacon to cook evenly and become crisp all over.

Stripling's has been a mainstay of Georgia families for the past 45 years. The business began with Hardin's uncle making and selling pork sausage out of his grandfather's mercantile store. As word spread about his handmade sausages, a proper butcher shop was opened in 1965. Since then new generations have fallen in love with Stripling's traditional, honest products.

Southern rind on bacon
I enjoyed it. Nice chance from the regular bacon we've bought for years. My wife, however, did not like it.

Old Fashioned Southern Style RIND-on Bacon!
This bacon is simply the best. I searched for ages to locate that old fashioned rind bacon I grew up loving. I gave it to my mom for Mother's Day and will do so for other occassions. I order 10+ pounds at a time and the reduced shipping is a big plus to order more at a time. It arrives in perfect condition with packing supplies which are reusable. I cannot say enough wonderful positive things. PLEASE always keep this product available.

Brings back memories
I was so happy to come across this product. I've been searching online trying to find slab bacon with the rind on forever. The flavor is excellent and wakes up your taste buds. I will definitely be buying more. The only downside is I ate it every day this week.

SOUTHERN BACON WITH RIND
This bacon is very hard to find. I am from the south where it is very easy to buy, buy I live in the Northeast now, people look at you crazy if you ask for bacon with the rind on it here. Although the taste and freshness of the bacon was great, it is very expensive for the fact that it is sliced thin with very little rind on it.I received free shipping via shoprunner.com but still had to pay $4.99 for packaging according to shoprunner.com I saved $14.99 on the shipping price, so you see with the shipping and all this bacon is not worth the price just for a very thin slice of rind on it.I purchased 2 pounds of it and had I paid the the $7.99 per lb. + $14.99 shipping and $4.99 packaging total price per pound would ended up being about $13.99 per pound. That is enough to make me just buy pork rinds in the bag from the store and be happy. So all in all I paid $20.97 for pound of this bacon that's $10.49 per pound. I can purchase thick sliced bacon at the store without the rind for about $8.00 per pound. If you must have the rind on you will pay the price for it.

Rind on bacon
Bacon to thin for the price we are paying. Also shipping cost more than the bacon. The bacon taste good but we will have to find another web site to order bacon when can buy bacon for 3 dollar or less when we lived in Michigan.
