The Vermont Creamery uses only the freshest local cream to make its world-class butters. They gently pasteurize the cream and add a bacterial culture to start the process of turning cream to butter. The fermenting cream rests for nine to sixteen hours to produce a complex blend of flavor compounds, making this butter so unique. After fermentation, the cream is churned into butter and the Atlantic sea salt crystals are added. This salt, harvested from tidal pools off the coast of Haiti, enhances the flavor of the butter and gives it an artisanal, marbled appearance. Finally, the butter is cut, wrapped in parchment paper, and packed by hand in a small, handmade wooden basket.

This butter is the "Grand Cru" of all Vermont Butters. Crunchy pieces of flavorful salt combined with incredibly creamy and delicate butter creates a perfect harmony as the butter melts in your mouth and the grains of salt crunch between your teeth. Serve a dollop atop grilled meats, melt it over shrimp or lobster, or try it in cookie recipes.

Not as Crunchy as advertised
This butter is lovely and tasty. We tried it since we wanted the crunchy salt, however it was not very crunchy at all.

An absolute addiction!
I go out of my way when I find a good butter, which often involves buying directly at farms, or Mennonite shops, but this is butter is my new obsession. It has these amazing salt crystals (hold a slice up to the light and see them sparkle) that compliment the body, texture and taste.

Perfect balance of texture & taste
Vermont Cultured Buter with Sea Salt has a rich, mild flavor with bursts of salt for a wonderful mouth feel. Terrific on 9-grain toast, atop fruited breads, over semi-sweet chocolate wafers and to complement all manner of grilled foods. Also heavenly spread over warm cornbread with a dollop of dulce de leche. Vermont, we love you!

Great product
A little mild flavor, but my kids enjoy this butter! I would suggest, if deliver in summer time, UPS to deliver early in the morning to my street. The box was delivered after 3pm, heated, and the product, despite the special package, was exposed to high temp during the day. The butter was almost melted. I put it right way in the refrigerator. I was afraid that it has been spoiled but finally everything was ok.

OH MY GOD!!!
This butter is awesome! It is not too salty- it is the perfect amount of sea salt crystals. It tastes so good simply spread on a piece of nice baguette.
