The cheese market in Holland is changing rapidly. For years, Holland was known for Gouda and Edam, two simple cheeses that appeal to the masses. But as tastes have moved upscale, the popularity of Gouda and Edam has waned. With almost every cheese plant in Holland geared up for the production of these two cheeses, a gap between supply and demand threatened to put the smaller cheesemakers out of business. While many got bought out by larger competitors, several shifted their strategy to new and inventive specialty cheeses. Since the mid 1990's, many new cheeses have been developed in Holland. Rouveen, the maker of this cheese, is one of the pioneers of the specialty movement.

Rouveen's Walnut Gouda turns plain old boring Gouda into something fantastic and exciting. A cheese you will crave endlessly, Walnut Gouda is everything you expect it to be and more. WOW!!! Amazing!!!
I had no idea that gouda cheese and walnuts went so well together wrapped up in one cheese!!! Absolutely amazing flavor and texture. Walnut pieces are small and give a hint of flavor; not over bearing and do not get stuck in your teeth. Highly recommend this unique and fun cheese!!

real gourmet
I love this cheese , for any occasion. It go well with fruit. it also is good different meat. The taste of the nut give it a super flavor. I alway like to have it available in my refrigerator.

Unexpected great wonderful taste!
This cheese is so good. The creamy gouda with a true mild flavor of walnuts! This is a great pairing. I am so pleased with this gouda and will definitely buy more.

Wife's and family favorite, a bit rich for me.
Wife & brother's #1 favorite, likes to thin slice it for snacks or protein side dish. Thinks walnuts addition is great. For me, a bit too creamy & rich, not as tasty as a regular gouda, walnuts a bit of a distraction, so I can only eat a little bit at the time. Will reorder for her (the 5 rating), not for me (3 rate, so avg 4 rate).

Walnu Gouda
I love to have this cheese on hand for the holiday. I use it for appetizers with Riveria pears. I use it for a fast snack. The taste is amazing.

fantastic
this walnut gouda lives up to the name gourmet. it goes well with different fruits, but also can stand along as a party favorite. I love the flavor and the texture of this cheese
