Smoked trout is wonderful to set out for guests at the beginning of a dinner party and also perfect for preparing phenomenal fish patés and mousses. We absolutely love the trout's cool, smoky flavor and it's flaky, yet moist texture.

Nodine's Smokehouse Inc. was started back in 1969 as a small custom smokehouse in Goshen, Connecticut. Over the many years of hard work and dedication, this small family business outgrew the small processing plant located at the farm in Goshen. In 1989, the company moved to a remodeled and modernized facility. At the new production and shipping facility, while using the finest U.S.D.A. inspected ingredients, Nodine's has been able to capture the Old World Gourmet quality and flavor that's missing in most high volume facilities, while consistently maintaining high production.

Quality - top notch. Flavor & texture great. Only wish we could purchase in a larger package for a lower overall price, then we'd buy more often.

Wonderful!
The trout has a chewy texture, not too too greasy, wonderful smoked flavor. Much more firm then a smoked chub. If you like smoked fish this is wonderful on crackers.

Perfect Smoked Trout
The trout arrived in excellent condition and in a timely manner. I used it to make a smoked trout spread to be served on lavosh as a complement to Lillet cocktails - delicicous

I made a trout mousse with this. It peeled very easily off of the skin, no bones, light and flaky texture. The only thing that I wished is that it had the ounces on the bag, or it says the ounces per serving but it doesn't say how many servings it makes. No fishy smell or overpowering taste.

excellent
I was going to use this as an appetizer, but everyone kept taking a 'taste'. It never made to the table or even to the plate. Delicately flavored and nice smoky notes.

Definately worth it!
I ate the trout for breakfast with fresh cantalope and the Coach Triple Cream Goat cheese. What a wonderfully delicious way to start the day!
