About our Coffee Like the drink itself, the history of coffee is rich and robust. One ancient account traces coffee back to Ethiopia, where legend has it that a shepherd noticed his sheep became excited after eating coffee berries. Soon thereafter, people discovered that eating this fruit could help them stay awake and become more alert.
Another account gives an Arabian exile credit for developing coffee as a beverage. Banished to the desert to starve, this miscreant scavenged wild coffee beans and boiled them to make them edible. He also drank the resulting broth in the hope that it would save his life, thus becoming the world’s first barrista.
While we recommend buying coffee in whole bean format, we offer ground coffee as well for customers on the run. Browse our selection of roasts that range from French to Viennese to espresso to custom roasts that bring out the best of the bean. As far as regional coffees go, we offer beans from Indonesia, Colombia, Kona, Jamaica and just about every other location that cultivates the Arabica coffee plant. If your love your coffee without caffeine, we have plenty of decaffeinated varieties to choose from as well.
