Feta is a fresh cheese whose curd is preserved in a salt brine, which gives it a characteristic flavor and a specific texture. Originally created in Romania, Feta is now best known as a Greek cheese. However, this staple is made all around the circumference of the Mediterranean, including in southern France. Valbreso Feta is made from sheep's milk that is left over from the production of Roquefort, the famous French blue cheese. While typically eaten as a table cheese around the Mediterranean, in the USA it is most often added to mixed salads, and best appreciated in the summer.

Oh so THAT is what real feta tastes like!

My fiance loves feta, while I have never been a fan. But I found out recently that most of our American feta is made from cows milk and tastes nothing like the real thing. So we ordered this in order to find out. We are both converted. This is delicious. Neither of us will waste our time with cow's-milk feta again.

Do yourself a favor and disregard any negative review. I can assure you this is one of the best Feta's is the world. Sounds like the begative reviews come from people who have eaten too much cows milk feta which really is inedible. There are many other great feta's but none wih the creaminess of the Valbreso feta.

Love Roquefort, so I wanted to try this feta from the same producers. Very good - not extra salty like the hum-drum feta you get in stores. I put it in spinach salads and baked tomatoes and now we're out! Will reorder.

I was disappointed with this cheese, I did not get a feta feel or taste from it.

My favourite feta! Wonderfuly complex, fruity flavor -- tasting of apricots slightly. Excellent with baked artichokes, or stuffed in a leg of lamb with spinach or mint, or just tossed with cucumbers.

Creamy to the taste and firm to the touch. Pungent when coming to smell! Bitter when coming to flavor. Left back taste afterward making me believe that this item was either Bad – Under-ripped or Overripe and just to old. Absolutely something was wrong with the product! Was unable to serve very unpleasant.
