Delice de Pommard
Delice de Pommard is a truly special cheese, created by Alain Hess. It is a ball-shaped triple crème goat cheese rolled in mustard husks. Handmade in the tiny village of Pommard (Burgundy), where vineyards extend as far as the eye can see. This cheese pairs perfectly with a great wine from the same region.
Made from goat's milk.
Best enjoyed within seven days of delivery.

Tastes as good here as in Burgundy

Do you ever eat something or have a wine while traveling that seems so delicious, but you're worried that you are influenced too much by the atmosphere (say you're having a picnic in the vineyard where the wine was made) and once you get home, it just won't be the same. Guess what? Delice de Pommard held up. Had it on a cheese plate in Burgundy, then would actively seek it out for remainder of the trip. Quite a specialty item here in US so I was thrilled to find it. Served it on a cheese plate for a very major dinner party and everyone went crazy over it. I'm only referring to the mustard seed version. There are a couple others that sound good, but I haven't tried. Nor can I imagine them being as delicious - there is something with both contrast and affinity between the creamy cheese and the pungent mustard seed.

product tasted good, but was not appealing to look at. Did not look like it would have if I had bought it at the store. [...]

Became addicted to this while in Burgundy. Looked for it for years before finding it here. It isn't goat-y at all.. its very creamy and smooth and mustard-y and amazing.

An unusual but delicious cheese that I first tasted in Gevrey-Chambertin, Burgundy. I never expected to be able to get it in the US.
