Doux de Montagne is ripened in the tradition of the Monts du Velay region, and is recognized by its cottage loaf form. This cheese is creamy, fruity, and has a distinctive buttery flavor.

Creamy all right, so whilte & wet with cream there's no other taste
Not for noshing, too soft, tasteless & wet. Can spread with a knife. Wife will try to use it up in cooking, not good on pizza. iG should not have put this in the semi-hard category. Can't understand the other high reviews.

Not what I expected

A classic finish
A smooth and creamy cheese with depth of flavor and a smooth finish; pair with grapes, walnuts and a white wine such a Pinot Grigiot; also great for a classic cheese board.

Nice Mild Flavor
While Steven Jenkins calls this cheese "vapid", I found it delightful. Very smooth and creamy. It goes very well with sweet apple wedges and walnuts. Also great in salads. If you don't like overly-strong flavored cheeses, you will most likely enjoy this.

Wonderful
I'm not a big cheese fan, but I love Doux de Montagne. I enjoyed it with a dessert wine. It's not overwhelming or strong, very smooth and delicious. Thank God for the internet, because my local world store no longer has it!

Served at a wine tasting party....had a nice creamy buttery taste...went quickly.
