This cheese is made from pure sheep's milk and seasoned with wine. In Tuscany, an ancient harmony is recognized between the flavor of pecorino and the bouquet of wine. This harmony is played out beautifully in Brillo Pecorino DiVino. Pecorino is one of the most ancient cheeses in the world and can be traced back nearly 2,000 years to a time when sheep-herding was still the principle means of livelihood for the people of Italy. Wine's history is even longer, so bringing these two culinary ancients together was a natural combination.

So delicious!
I purchased 4 different kinds of Italian pecorino cheeses. This one is my favorite, although they were all good. If I closed my eyes, I could taste that I was in Italy again. I will definitely order more of these cheeses. Can't find them anywhere else.

Not up to expectations
I didn't find it had much 'wine' flavor to it. It wasn't exactly bland, but also nothing striking about it. I was surprised at the color. If you don't pay much attention, you'll think you're getting a pinkish cheese rather than the white cheese. I doubt that I will purchase again.

Excellent Cheese!
I served this cheese at a recent cocktail party, and it was huge success - everyone raved about it. Two friends who had recently moved here from Europe were so impressed. They said they rarely had cheese this good in the US. I will definitely order more!

This is THE DeVino
There are several wine-drunken cheese out there. For instance, Murcia al Vino is another similar cheese available from iGourmet. When I compare wine-soaked cheese, I find that Brillo Pecorino DiVino is the absolute best of all I tried (I tried three from iGourmet over the years but cannot remember the third one). This one is different. It is unique in that it tastes so good because, among other factors, it melts in your mouth as you eat it. The way this DeVino melts is very unique. It does not melt like buttery cheese; it almost gives you the feeling it is a dry-melt. Perhaps I need help for someone else more articulate who tried it to re-phrase :-) By comparison, Murcia al Vino is very, very buttery. If you try to taste both cheese at same time, you will get what I mean.

There are so many excellent cheeses in the world.I would definitely bring this cheese to the Americans to try with Barolo wine.
