Mozzarella di Bufala by Pomella
The history of Mozzarella is linked to that of the water buffalo. Nobody really knows exactly when the first water buffaloes came to Italy, but one account claims that it was in the year 596 AD when they were brought across the Mediterranean. This oft-copied but never duplicated gem is a fresh, drawn-curd cheese made from whole buffalo's milk. Most people don't know what water buffalo milk tastes like, but upon one's first bite it is unmistakable that this legendary cheese is made from an unfamiliar milk. It is porcelain-white in color, spherical in shape, with a very thin, glossy, edible rind. Mozzarella di Bufala has a springy texture and a pleasantly sourish taste with a faint mossy smell, reminiscent of the humid grazing fields of Campania in southern Italy. If you've never had the real Mozzarella before, it's definitely time you tasted this sublime delicacy.
Made from pasteurized buffalo's milk.
Comes in a 7 ounce ball form.
Vacuum-packed in its own brine-filled pack.
Best enjoyed within 7 days of delivery.

Not like what we had in Italy
Came back from a trip to the Napoli region with a "craving" for this. Ordered (3) pieces only to have (1) that was worth it. I know that it is always on back order but wonder if they are "rushing" out product in order to fulfill orders. (2) pieces did have a good texture on the outside but they arrived squished and more like a soft curd on the inside. Will probably look for another source to compare

Buff Mozz
High quality Mozzarella, it just falls apart as you are handling it. I prefer to use it for Margherita pizza, but also awesome with good olive oil, cracked pepper and salt and crusty bread. Got to eat ASAP - this stuff does not last, and it shouldn't.

Mozzarella di Bufala
My niece and her Italian husband visited us for the holidays. He had mentioned this type of cheese as one that he enjoyed in Italy. He was delighted with the texture and flavor of the cheese. We will certainly continue to purchase this cheese when it is available.

Not what I expected
Having grown up on NY city style Mozzarella and able to get it "in the water" here in New Haven, CT, I was unprepared for the "mossy", earthy taste. I suppose if you develop a taste for that, this mozzarella would be a good example. It was juicy, nice texture and fresh.

Buffalo Mozzarella
Very Disappointing, I listened to family raving about Buffalo Mozarrella over Thanksgiving, and just had to try it. I found it to be mushy and not to have extraordinary taste, Needless to say to me, it was not worth the money and I will not be ordering it again.

Mozzarella di buffalo
This was the worst mozzarella I have ever had. I have spent a great deal of time in Italy and THIS WAS NOT MOZZARELLA DI BUFLAO!!!!!!!!!....waste of my money. This was horrble mozzarella....could not open the container. it was just terrible. My pizza was ruined! My revival of my times in Italy was destroyed.

Incredible
Toast a great piece of bread, add a slice of the best tomato, add a slice of Mozzarella di Bufala, some fresh basil, salt and pepper and drizzle a fine olive oil - best breakfast in the world.
