Almost extinct, only a handful of dairies in Norway still make Nokkelost. This Norwegian specialty cheese, made from partially skimmed cow's milk, is flavored with cumin seeds and cloves. These herbal additions give Nokkelost a warm, spicy taste. Similar in concept to Dutch Leyden, although with a springier texture, Nokkelost is a festive cheese that is always a hit at parties. It partners very well with beer and wine, especially when served with dark breads, such as pumpernickel.

Excellent Cheese
I grew up eating Nokkelost. The stores here stopped selling it, and then I found igourmet. Over the years, I've tried imitations, but nothing comes close to the real thing from Norway.

So lovely, after all this time
This cheese used to be available at our local Co-op many years ago. It is a most delicious cheese and tastes just as I remember it. Thank you for carrying it. It arrived beautifully packaged.

Outstanding!
This Norwegian cheese is a family tradition and not easy to find the authentic version. The IGourmet Nokkelost exceeded our expectations and we will be back for more.

Wonderful and so hard to find!
Just as I remembered this unique cheese is mellow and unusual. All the people who got tastes complimented the combinations of unusual spice and smoothness. Thank you for carrying this it is so hard to find.

Delicious!
Delicious! I'm so excited to have this cheese again. My maternal grandparents were born in Norway and I grew up on it. I wasn't able to find it for several years since it wasn't being imported and now igourmet has it! It was delicious and fresh, and packaged perfectly. Thank you!

A Family Tradition
Nokkelost is a wonderfully, unusual cheese produced only in Norway. It is a cheese that was always in our home and loved by our family. Unfortunately, it became hard to come by. After many years of looking, I finally found it on igourmet. I order it whenever it is available.

Delicious Nokkleost
Recently purchased an order of Nokkleost. I have not had this delicious cheese for a number of years. It was fantastic and brought back flood of memories of when i was living in Norway. The shipping was amazingly quick and the high quality container used, kept the cheese fresh. It was a great treat.
