Located in the lush pasturelands of Lancashire, this family dairy has been making cheese for over 70 years. Blacksticks Blue is a new, soft, blue-veined cheese from Butlers Farmhouse Cheeses. Made solely with pasteurized milk from the family's cows, the cheese is matured for eight weeks, during which it develops an amber hue and, says Butlers, a smooth but tangy flavor. The name Blacksticks comes from a collection of tall chestnut trees on the Goosnargh-Chipping border, which is also the name given to the family's restaurant.

Former supreme champion winner, Butlers Farmhouse Cheeses, recently picked up three trophies and seven class firsts including Best Overall Cheese Dairy and Best Blue Cheese at the Nantwich International Cheese Show. Blacksticks Blue was also a 2004 NASFT Contest Finalist.

Superb Blue Cheddar
I like this cheese. This cheese has a good cheddar texture with a nice blue cheese tanginess.

Had to get more!
This is one of the best blue cheeses I have ever had. The texture is creamy, the flavor is rich and mellow with a pleasing bite. The love child of Stilton and Cheddar. Perfect paired with beef; I used some in a stroganoff recipe from their cute website, melted some more on a steak, and now I'm back to buy more.

Ammmmmmmmazing!
Don't be fooled by the colour or blue - very sweet and creamy with a lovely stinky (in a good way) aroma. I serve with wasabi rice crackers and a nice chilled Puligny Montrachet. I feeling decadent a nice bit of fizz!

Great flavor
This blue cheese is only second to Mature Stilton. Great flavor and texture, I can tell it is a good blue because my wife does not like it, just means more for me.

Incredible Cheese
This cheese has a deep and intense Stilton taste. Yes, Stilton more than Blue. Very creamy. This is a great cheese. One of the best.
