Many cultures have some form of blood sausage, from the French boudin noir to the British black pudding to the Polish kishka. Spain's Morcilla blood sausage is a traditional ingredient in bean stews, added to rice, or served alone as a tapa. Our Morcilla is produced domestically according to a Spanish recipe. The blood sausages are made of pork, pork blood, and onions, spiced with parsley, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Packed in a natural hog casing, Morcilla can be sliced into 1" sections and fried in oil or lard.

Not Real Spanish Morcillas
If you are expecting authentic Morcillas, you will be greatly disappointed. They taste terrible and are horribly overpriced. Utterly disappointing.

Good blood sausage!
My husband and I liked the blood sausage. We ate it before in my country and he loved it. This one was a little bit in the dry side which is understandable because it is not fresh made. We grilled it for a few minutes in the oven and had it with mash potatoes.

I thought this would taste like British 'black pudding' It doesn't. I did not like it at all, but then I wanted balck pudding so I don't know what this is suppoesed to taste like!

Excellent flavor... many uses!
Used a few as tapas then incorporated the rest in a long-baked, rich Carcassonne-style Cassoulet (saving a bite for breakfast.) Big hits with the crowd either way. We're used to uncooked blood sausage (boudin noir, local Portuguese morcella) so the pre-cooked style was surprising when it arrived, but also far more versatile. Agree with the other reviewer that it's a bit pricy, but we'll surely order again as we can't get it around here.

Blood sausage
Excellent just like I used to get in Puerto Rico. Thought a bit pricey. Especially when add on the postage and handlinmg. Though will probably buy again.

Great for tapas
Sliced and fried this up for tapas when I was feeling less inspired. The flavor is great! Once you get over the idea of "blood sausage" it is a great addition to the usual items in the fridge. Looking forward to a breakfast of blood sausage and scrambled eggs
