Wexford Mature Cheddar

Made just south of Dublin, Wexford Cheddar is a mature, twelve-month cheddar perfect for serving with brown bread and chutney. Wexford Creamery was set up in 1959 by a group of local Wexford dairy farmers and businessmen and produces delicious cheese, cream, and milk. Today, this co-operative owned dairy banks on their most valuable asset; the Friesian cows of County Wexford that produce some of the creamiest milk found on the Emerald Isle. This milk is skillfully turned into sharp Irish cheddar as it ages for at least a year. Due to the richness of the milk, this cheese still keeps a buttery flavor once it comes out of the Wexford aging rooms. Enjoy Wexford Mature Cheddar with a pint of good Irish ale, or a crisp glass of white wine.

Delicious & smooth

This is my first experience with igourmet.com and I was not disappointed. The aged cheddar from Ireland was absolutely delicious. The taste, texture, and feel of this product is wonderful. lovely, mild

Delicious Cheese

Great Cheese at a Great Price

This Wexford Cheddar is much, much better than so many cheddars I've tried. I like all the cheeses I ordered off Igourmet, but over three orders I've never reordered the same cheese, it was always more fun to try something new. But this is the first cheese I know I will not only reorder, but probably double up on. Tastes even better than the $11 cheddar I bought!

Wow

Sorry for the title of this review but that is what I felt when I first tasted this exceptional cheese. It's listed as a sharp cheddar but is more mild than the Kerry's Gold or the Black Diamond sharp cheddars. This cheese has a slightly sweet and buttery taste with just a light sharp taste. Normally I prefer a more sharp cheddar but this was truly excellent. I would definitely say this is a must try.
