Grits are a Southern classic that is having its day in the sun, thanks to the artisan milling techniques at Old School Mill in Albemarle, North Carolina. While many grits (coarsely ground corn) have the germ removed from the kernel, Old School keeps the germ in for better flavor and nutrition. Plus, these grits are made from only the most select white corn, harvested locally in North Carolina. The corn is slowly ground on antique millstones, then sifted to perfection, retaining all of the natural corn oils to produce a rich corn flavor, exactly as it would have tasted generations ago. If your only experience with grits has been the instant, quick, or diner varieties, then you are in for a pleasant surprise. We hope you agree, these are the best grits in the world!

Available in either white or yellow corn grits. Since this product has the germ intact, it's recommended to refrigerate to keep all the oils fresh and flavorful.

Yum! These grits are goooood!
My first pot was so thick and creamy it was custard-like. Rich and smooth taste with that very pleasant custard-like texture.

Old School Grits
My husband is a good ol southern boy, and demands real grits. They are harder to find than you would think. At least local. So I now order the Old School Grits from igourmet. Great product.

Nothing like good old school grits
I won't even think about those quick grits they selling in the stores. I like the old fashioned kind with eggs, bacon, and biscuits, all the old school way.

Delicious!
Since I live in Michigan, grits is not a common food. I first had stone ground grits at a Florida restaurant, and they were so much better than regular grits. I've purchased some for friends too and we all love them! So delicious with butter, maple syrup or honey!

Not Your
These grits are slightly more coarsely ground than the best we've found in retail markets, so they take just a few more minutes to cook up. Patience is rewarded with a very creamy and highly flavorful result. We also appreciate the higher nutritional quality of the stone-ground variety such as these. Highly recommended. Glad we bought them and we will buy more.

Great grits
Yes, they take longer to cook than the instant type, but worth the extra time. They have a richer flavor and creamier texture. I got them a week ago and have had them 3 times now.
