Baita Friuli comes from the Friuli-Venezia region of Giulia, located in northeastern Italy on the Slovenian border. This region is home to Italy's best polenta and San Daniele prosciutto. Baita is a tasty, firm-textured cow's milk cheese, aged for about five months. Rich, fruity, and spicy, Baita's flavor is reminiscent of Swiss Gruyere and wonderful served with pears or chunked in salads.

very good!
Slightly reminiscent of gruyere but milder, less heavy tasting than gruyere. Has a slight trace of fruitiness - maybe - hard to describe but very tasty, good. You'll like it!

Favorite Italian Cheese
Firm, and flavorable, but not granular like Parmesian. Excellent with a white, Rose or Pinot Noir wine.

Love it
A very good cheese. Yes, reminiscent of gruyere but better. Had slivers on a green salad with tomatoes and sliced almonds, good quality oil & vinegar. A must for every order from now on.

A marvelous cheese
This is a hard cheese, that is very flavorful. A new cheese to us, but will become a frequently purchased cheese. It is wonderful with honey as well.

This cheese was a big hit!
Makes a wonderful after dinner cheese. Was very surprised at the mild flavor for a hard cheese.
