Villa Manodori balsamicos are produced in very small quantities by Massimo Bottura, chef and owner of Osteria Francescana restaurant in Modena. Villa Manodori Artigianale is crafted from the must of locally grown trebbiano grapes and aged red wine vinegar. It is matured for 10 to 20+ years in small barrels of oak, chestnut and juniper woods, yielding a balsamic of dark rich color, intense aroma and syrupy consistency. It incredibly intensifies the flavors of 22 month Grana Padano and grilled meats, yet is still sweet enough to drizzle over strawberries or ice cream. This exquisite specialty item ships in a beautiful white gift box.

Great vinegar. Wonderful gift for a foodie!
Bought this as one of my mom's birthday gifts and what a hit! She just returned from Italy and preferred this to 2 bottles she bought there that were far more expensive.

It's Great
Just what I was looking for. Good value and general purpose balsamic vinegar that enhances the flavors of vegetables and meats. Great on a grilled steak.

Good condimento balsamic
I know a bit about balsamic vinegars. This one is not a pure must balsamico. It is made with some wine vinegar and some must--it is hard to tell how much. Certainly the wine vinegar is high quality. This mixing of the two vinegars produces a thinning of the breadth and depth of flavors which does not occur with a whole must high quality condimento/artiginale vinegar such as the balsamic seasoning from Gorrieri. The superiority of Gorrieri's is quite startling. Gorrieri's is lesser known and underrated in part by more advertising and the ability of Manodori to stand up to heat. This is perhaps due to the wine vinegar. One would never use a high quality condimento for cooking, which would destroy it's flavor and aroma--it would be added at the end of cooking or over deserts. This ability of Manodori's to stand up to cooking temperature without losing its flavor makes it an ideal choice for those who wish to do so.

Excellent flavor, wonderful gift
Great drizzled over chunks of old Parmigiano Reggiano. Not too syrupy, with tremendous flavor. Good with bruschetta, too.

Great Balsamic
I discovered this vinegar several years ago and it really does not compare to any other balsamic I had before. A little goes a long way. Fantastic over summer tomatoes.

Like a fine wine.....
Turns summer tomatoes and mozzarella into a gourmet delicacy! Very full flavored - works well drizzled over steak or grilled chicken. Well worth the price.

Uncommonly Delightful
I tried this accidentally and became hooked. It is so rich and flavorful that I use it alone on salad (without oil). It may seem outrageous to pay such a high price for vinegar, but I guarantee this is unlike any balsamic you'll find in a regular market. It is thick and syrupy, sweet and rich. I bought two bottles while it was on sale!
