Green Dirt Farm is a women owned-and-operated small farm dedicated to bringing the best 100% grass-fed lamb and farmstead sheep's milk cheeses to their community. The farm is set in the bluffs above the Missouri River Valley about 40 miles northwest of Kansas City, Missouri.

Green Dirt Farm sheep's milk cheeses are made using milk from their own grass-fed, gently-raised ewes. Sarah and Jacqueline handcraft the cheeses on their farm using traditional old world methods that produce a unique richness and depth of flavor. The diverse grasses of the pastures flavor our ewe's milk with hints of clover, legumes and flowers. The flavors in the milk change as the pastures grow, creating cheeses that uniquely reflect Green Dirt Farm and celebrate the seasons.

Woolly Rind is their version of a classic Camembert-style cheese. It has a lovely edible white bloomy rind that is sometimes mottled with flecks of tan, blue or orange as the cheese ages. Green Dirt only makes 150 of these cheeses every two weeks, ensuring each little cheese gets the attention and care it deserves. The cheese has a firm body and flavors of milk and grass when it is young. At the peak of ripeness, the cheese becomes runny at room temperature. It develops a lovely forest floor aroma and buttery, mushroomy flavors with a natural sweetness to the rind.

WONDERFUL CHEESE FOR NON COWS MILK EATERS
HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR A LONG TIME TO FIND SOFTER CHEESES MADE FROM GOAT SHEEP OR BUFFALO MILK. THIS CHEESE WAS DELISH DELISH DELISH! SEEMS TO ME LIKE YOU CAN ONLY FIND SOFT CRUMBLY GOAT CHEESE OR AGED SALTY SHEEP MANCHEGO-SYLE. I'VE BEEN ON THIS PLANET FOR 57 YEARS AND SOMETIMES YOU JUST NEED A LITTLE MORE VARIETY THAN THAT! THIS WAS FUN AND NEW. THE HUSBAND EVEN LIKED IT TOO, BUT I TOLD HIM TO GO EAT HIS BLUE CHEESE THIS WAS ALL MINE

Very Nice
Ours was runnier than the one showed in the picture, which is how we prefer our brie and camembert anyway. Really good.

Sheep Brie!
Very nice - never had a bloomy cheese made from sheep's milk before. Great flavor and much more interesting than regular brie or camembert.
