From the Italian island of Sardinia comes this raw sheep's milk cheese with black truffles. Unlike most truffled cheeses, the truffle paste is infused after Moliterno has been aged so that the cheese develops its own character before the truffles are injected. Though the truffles are only visible in the "veins," the truffle flavor permeates throughout the entire paste of this amazing cheese. During the aging process, oil and vinegar are applied to the cheese's rind to prevent weight loss.

Once cut, the dark paste oozes out of the crevices of the cheese like trickles of water from a craggy cliff. Both delicious and intriguing visually, this cheese is a show-stopper. Enjoy this pecorino with a big, earthy Italian red with enough muscle to stand up to the truffles.

Rich and Wonderful !
Sent this as a gift and the recipients said this had a very rich taste with the truffle flavor permeating the entire cheese but not in an overpowering way. They were excited to try this cheese and enjoyed it tremendously.

Great Flavors
Didn't know what to expect, but the cheese combined with the truffle was excellent, but could always use more truffle! Nice blend of flavors

What's not to like
Take an excellent hard Italian cheese, and add black truffles. A nice tang simply sliced, and even better shaved over pasta (which has been simply dressed with olive oil and/or butter)

Intriguing
This cheese was very complex. Depended on what part of the cheese you ate would give you a totally differant flavor. The rind taste like dirt! The rest of it was deliciously complex!

not my favorite
the salty taste overpowers the truffle flavor somewhat. It is edible, but in small doses.

Very Good!
Cheese was great - had the taste of Romano with a hint of Truffle in each bite. My wife who is not a fan of truffle was able to enjoy as well because it wasn't overwhelming.

worth every penny
The only thing wrong with this cheese is that there is so little of it. My kids and I had to fight over it. It is an excelent, very flavorable, hard cheese which is perfect on top of a toasted baggete.

Wonderful Cheese!
After trying some igourmet cheeses at a wine tasting event, I purchased an assortment from igourmet for my husband. It arrived the day that was specified when ordering, in an insulated styrofoam container with a block of dry ice to keep the cheese fresh. The first cheese we opened was the Moliterno Black Truffle Pecorino. What a treasure! The bold pecorino is infused with the black truffles which gives it an earthy nuance. Great with hearty red wines.

This Cheese got Rave Reviews
I gave this cheese as a gift to friends for their housewarming. I haven't stopped hearing about how amazing it tastes shaved over whole wheat pasta with veggies. I think I'll get some for myself!
