For more than 130 years the Pick company from the city of Szeged in Hungary has been creating unique flavors and unforgettable treats with its top-quality products. Pick Winter Salami is made of a blend of lean pork meat and fatty pork bellies. Evenly ground, the meat is then stuffed into natural casings and hung to smoke over beech wood. This smoking helps to both dry and flavor the salami. After a period in the smoker, the salami is air-dried for several weeks to mature in flavor. It is during this time that the casing is covered in white, edible mold, which helps to preserve and protect the salami. This imported salami is delicious with sharp cheeses, chutney, and good bread.
