Prastost means "Priest Cheese" in Swedish. This cheese received its name in the days when it was customary for Swedish farmers to donate a tenth of everything they produced to the local priest; and only the very best would do. A distinctive cheese with a rich and strong flavor, enjoy Prastost as you would a fine Cheddar - as a snack or shredded atop chili or soup.

  • Please contact us if you would like to purchase the whole 28 lb. form.

Västerbotten is the traditional Swedish celebration cheese. To many Swedes, it is considered the "emperor of cheeses," either because of its heft (it is made in 40 pound wheels) or its full flavor. Produced in Northern Sweden, Vasterbotten is aged for over 11 months and thus is dry, reminiscent of a young Parmigiano Reggiano or an aged Cheddar. Its flavor is rich and full-bodied with a tangy, bittersweet bite. Serve it in the Swedish tradition with some ginger snaps and a cup of hot glogg.
  • Made from pasteurized cow's milk.
  • We cut and wrap this item by the 1/2 pound.
  • Please contact us if you would like to purchase the whole 40 lb. form.

VODCheese is a unique cheese brought to the U.S. by Ulla Nylin, a native of Falköping in Västergötland. Raised in Sweden's dairy capital, Ulla has used her knowledge of Swedish taste traditions and created an award winning cheese that combines two of Sweden's most successful tastes - Absolut Vodka and 12-month aged Prästost. VODCheese is a mildly sharp, semi-soft cheese, making it ideal to serve on its own with unsalted crackers, or as part of a cheese tray. Alternatively, with its flavorful overtones, you could surprise your guests and serve it as a dessert cheese. Great with a crisp chardonnay! Varieties sold separately.
  • Made from pasteurized cow's milk.
  • Photo depicts whole 7 lb. form of cheese.
  • We cut and wrap this item by the half-pound.

Just below the Arctic Circle where winter nights are endless, a master Swedish Dairyman created the perfect cheese for children and adults alike - Graddost. Today it's made across Scandinavia, with our variety hailing from Denmark. It's a one pound cylinder with a satiny ivory body and evenly distributed holes. Cave cured and bathed in pure glacial water, this delicacy's singular flavor is born from the extra rich milk of pampered cows. It is a very creamy cheese that practically melts in your mouth. Perfect as either an appetizer or dessert, Graddost will become a family favorite in no time.
  • Made from pasteurized cow's milk.

Herrgardsost is the most popular type of cheese in Sweden and has been produced since the 18th century, when it was created by a Swedish cheese master. Our version, named Vadenost after the Swedish port city, has a similar flavor but distinctly softer texture than English Cheddar. Although made from pasteurized cow's milk, Vadenost maintains a full-bodied, slightly grassy flavor.
