The literal translation of Creme Brulee is "burnt cream." In essence, this dessert is a chilled, stirred custard with a carmerlized sugar topping. The caramelized topping is brittle, offering a textural contrast to the smooth, creamy custard beneath. This particular mix is made by the Oetker Comapny of Ontario, Canada. Piedras de Espana, Spanish Stones, are the creation of Luis Echeto Jr. in the Canary Islands of Spain. Luis uses the king of almonds - the largueta to create his “stones”. Extra large, long and flat, they are then covered in sugar, coated with chocolate from Africa made with 42% cocoa butter, and dusted in cocoa powder. Bite through the luxurious melt-in your-mouth chocolate coating to get to the fresh, crunchy flavor of these superior Spanish almonds. Very addictive!-
