This all natural product of Germany is mildly smoked in a traditional manner by placing the cheese over smoldering beechwood embers for several hours. The natural smoking gives it an edible brown rind and a piquant, smoky note to enhance its underlying smooth, humble characteristics. Serve this aromatic cheese at room temperature as an outstanding addition to the cheese platter. It is also excellent sliced on sandwiches.
We cut and wrap this item by hand. Photo depicts whole 3.5 pound loaf.
Made with vegetarian rennet.
