Anchovy paste is very popular in Italy and commonly used as a spread for panini or as topping on crispy toast spread generously with butter. Also try it in the typical hot dip from Piedmont area called Bagna Cauda, or add it on the more southern Puttanesca sauce. For a salad dressing, mix one part anchovy paste with four parts mayonnaise or oil and vinegar. Mix a half teaspoon into cole slaw for a special Mediterranean treat.
