Ka'u Royal - 100% Big Island of Hawaii Ka'u Coffee - Whole Bean
On the big island of Hawaii, the Ka'u District produces some of the world's most exquisite coffee. This coffee comes from a cooperative pulling from 280 acres of coffee trees, growing primarily Guatemalan variety Arabica beans. All of this Ka'u coffee is grown at elevations of 1,400-2,000 feet on the slopes of the Mauna Loa volcano. The rich soil, coupled with ample rain and sunlight, lend the coffee beans their characteristic flavors of chocolate, cherry and coconut. The co-op uses the traditional wet-processing method, then dries the parchment in the sun. We are proud to offer this 100% Ka'u
coffee in two roasts to suit your personal tastes:
: A balanced and sweet cup with hints of lime, nuts and cocoa. This roast has medium body and medium acidity.
: A heavy bodied smoky coffee with notes of mint and pepper in the aroma. This roast has a lingering finish of mesquite and dark chocolate.
