Lars' Own Yellow Peas provides a recipe for authentic Swedish Yellow Pea Soup, called
. For several hundred years, Yellow Pea Soup has been Thursday's traditional supper for many Scandinavians, often accompanied by pork, crispbread, and spicy brown mustard. After the pea soup, pancakes with different fruit jams were traditionally eaten, and were considered to be part of the meal rather than dessert. It is said that they would eat a large meal on Thursdays in preparation for religious fasting on Fridays before the Reformation.
