Smoked Jarlsberg Cheese acquires its characteristic taste by being dipped in a special hickory liquid smoke. It gives the cheese a brown-colored surface and a piquant, smoky taste. Smoked Jarlsberg Cheese is an excellent sandwich filling and is a taste sensation in many hot and cold dishes. The original Jarlsberg Cheese was first produced in 1815 and has long since become Norway's most famous cheese and a household name here in America.
