Matured for a minimum of 18 months this cheese has a complexly nutty and strong flavor. Brugge Prestige is only made with milk collected during May, after the cows have eaten the first, greenest grass of the season. This produces some of the best milk of the year, which creates the perfect medium for Brugge's master cheesemakers to practice their art. An excellent cheese for fans of extra aged Gouda like Beemster, Old Amsterdam, or Boerenkaas. Brugge Prestige is also versatile in the kitchen, whether grated for cooking, sliced thinly for sandwiches, or topped with a bit of smoked ham and mustard as canapés. Pair this magnificent cheese with a strong blond beer like Duvel or Piraat, or rich red wine like Zinfandel or Bordeaux.
Made from pasteurized cow's milk.
