2 rounded Cups all-purpose flour
1 small packet instant yeast
pinch of salt
10 Tbsp. melted butter
2/3 Cup whole milk
1 jar Dalmatia® Fig cocoa spread
Powdered sugar for sprinkling dumplings
Sift flour in a bowl, then mix it with the dry yeast, sugar and a pinch of salt. Add milk, melted butter and egg into the dry mixture and knead dough until smooth. Let dough rest for 30 minutes in order to rise. When the dough is double in size, roll it out to 3/4” thickness and cut it into several 2” squares. Put 3/4 Tbsp. of Dalmatia® Fig cocoa spread in the center of each rectangle. Gently roll each rectangle piece to form a ball shape, place onto a buttered baking sheet. Let filled, uncooked dumplings rest for half an hour.
Prepare to cook: Place dumplings in a steamer (bamboo) over a pot of boiling water and cover. Steam cook the dumplings for about 15 minutes. Serve with vanilla gelato or vanilla sauce.
