  • Reading from Spring Brook Farm: Made with rich raw Jersey milk, this 3-month-old semisoft wheel is modeled after French Raclette. The thin, edible rind has a salmon-colored blush and the interior is buttery, with an aroma of salted peanuts and mushrooms. Reading (say "Redding") repeatedly wins its category at the American Cheese Society competition. With help from Iowa State University, he created it. Debuting in 1941, Maytag is thought to be America’s first blue cheese from cow’s milk and it remains one of the finest. Creamy and tangy, with an aroma like ranch dressing, Maytag Blue is an American classic that you can crumble on a wedge salad or showcase with pride on a cheese board. (7.5 oz)
