Brie de Nangis used to be made in local farms around Nangis, but production ended during World War II. Robert Rouzaire researched the traditional recipe and began producing Brie de Nangis again the 1980's. Brie de Nangis is buttery and mushroomy, like most Brie available to us in the States, there's more going on: it's sweet, earthy, and very flavorful with balanced salinity. Not too strong, yet not bland.

Fromagerie Rouzaire is based in the heart of the Brie area (1 hour from Paris in the Seine et Marne area in Tournan en Brie). The Rouzaires are a third generation, independent, family-owned dairy and affineurs.

Made from pasteurized cow's milk.
