Characterized by a unique, full-bodied flavor, Chaumes is a washed-rind variety. It has a delightfully soft, springy texture and is rich and creamy. Chaumes can be spread and is excellent on crusty French bread. Hailing from the fertile meadows of the Dordogne region of France, Chaumes is a modern French classic.
  • Made from pasteurized cow's milk.

A mild creamy washed rind cheese - it can become a habit
The first time I tasted Chaumes was in St. Albans, UK just outside of London at a friends house. I kept taking more until I cleaned them out. This cheese is mild, super creamy and flavorful. Put it on a cheese spread - some warm, some at room temp. It spreads nicely. To make the experience complete, serve with a Moscato, or a German Riesling Spatlese from Mosel.

my favorite cheese
The cheese has a wonderful texture and the after taste has a soft but persistant flavor more than pleasant.

Fresh, very tasty, love to use it as a nicely flavored cheese spread on crackers or a nice baguette
One of the best Chaumes I''ve had. I didn''t know that this cheese existed until having dinner at a friend''a house outside London. I love washed-rinde cheeses and this is on the milder side. That said, it is as described: Rich and Creamy, wonderfully tasty. When I make Philly Cheese steaks I often use this cheese. It melts nicely.

Chaumes rules... divinely creamy...
We discovered this cheese at a 4 star restaurant in Burgundy, as an after dinner choice. Upon spreading and tasting it on a roundel of country French bread, we fell in love with it! I would describe it between a Brie and a Camembert, with a light, somewhat nutty flavor I intend to pay the gastronomical price and order this on line, as we find we crave it now that we are back in the USA. Highly recommended to even the most sophisticated palettes. Judi Dunn

Wonderful cheese!!!!!!! Love it!
Lovely cheese! Great for people that don't like the very strong cheeses and want to try something inbetween!
